Why did you decide to start this business? 

When I moved here I worked in different places.  Then when I got enough money I decided to open up my own shop here in Pampa.  I get to work with different cars & vehicles, it is just something I like to do.

How has business been so far? 

It started to get busy till the oil field drop, but we still manage because of the regular customers we have.

What makes your business different?

My shop is different from everyone else because it is a family owned business and we also put more effort & time into customers vehicles.

Tell us a bit about you, where are you originally from?

I been here for a long time,but I'm originally from San Antonio, but Jessalyn is from the Philippines.

What were you doing before you started Roberts Quality Auto Service?

I did mechanic repair, we were working with other companies as a mechanic shop. 

Tell us something you want others to know about Robert Chavarria the person, not Robert Chavarria the business man. 

I am a family man. I'm also very friendly & outgoing, I speak a different language. I speak Spanish & Jessalyn speaks her native Philippine language.

What are your thoughts on shopping locally?

I feel like it is better for people to fix their cars in town instead of going all the way to Amarillo or anywhere out of town.  You can just leave your car here & be in the comfort of your own home, while you wait for your car to be fixed.

What's one way you think Pampa could help its local businesses?

Pampa can help its local businesses by, shopping in town so the money will circulate within Pampa. It will help places stay in business.

Why did you decide to start this business? 

When we moved to Pampa I wanted to work. I didn't think I would be able to handle being home all day, so I decided to open this store. Also, there weren't any stores like mine here in Pampa in 1998. People had to travel to Amarillo, so part of my motivation was wanting to provide a local store here in Pampa.  

How has business been so far? 

It has gone extremely well. I'm thankful for that because that is what has allowed me to be open almost 19 years.

What makes your business different?

I pride myself on excellent customer service. I try to please the customers. If a customer comes in looking for an item and I don't have it I will order the item specifically for that customer. My main goal is to make sure the customer leaves happy. 

Tell us a bit about you, where are you originally from?

We lived in Los Angeles and La Puente, CA. We moved to Pampa in 1997 and I opened up E.C. Fashion the following year.  

What were you doing before you started E.C. Fashion?

I used to work at the Guess Clothing Store in Los Angeles, CA. I worked there for over 14 years. 

Tell us something you want others to know about Elida Cabrales the person, not Elida Cabrales the business woman. 

I am a kind, caring person. I will do my best to make sure people are happy. 

What are your thoughts on shopping locally?

People prefer to shop in Amarillo because they think they are getting higher quality and a better deal, but that is not the case. I have never understood that. We need to support our local shops here in town. It would be beneficial to the community and to the business owners. 

What's one way you think Pampa could help its local businesses?

With support. Local support is very important and would go a long way in helping. The community needs to support local business owners who work hard everyday to provide local shops. There are good days and bad days, yet we persevere and here we are today.

Hobart St (Suite 7 & 8) and are taught by an experienced, educated teacher in Deanna McGill. We recently caught up with Mrs. McGill and asked her about her dance studio. 

Why did you decide to start this business? 

I went to school for dance. Jeanne Willingham was my dance instructor here in Pampa, and when she retired I decided to open up my own dance academy. 

How has business been so far? 

Great! We have over 100 students from all over the Panhandle Area. 

What makes your business different?

We put time and effort into our students.

I went to school in Pampa my whole life. 

What were you doing before you started the dance academy?

I taught dance at West Texas A&M University 

Tell us something you want others to know about Deanna McGill the person, not Deanna McGill the business woman. 

I have been married to David McGill for 24 years and we have a lovely daughter, Dacie McGill. 

What are your thoughts on shopping locally?

You would get the same or even better quality of talent here as you would anywhere else. We have an incredible academy here in Pampa. 

What's one way you think Pampa could help its local businesses?

By supporting the arts. We need people to spend money in town rather than in big places like Amarillo.
